Review: The Ghostwriter by Alessandra Torre

Title: The Ghostwriter
Author: Alessandra Torre
Series: none
Genre: contemporary romance, suspense

From New York Times Bestseller Alessandra Torre...

Four years ago, I lied. I stood in front of the police, my friends and family, and made up a story, my best one yet. And all of them believed me.

I wasn't surprised. Telling stories is what made me famous. Fifteen bestsellers. Millions of fans. Fame and fortune.

Now, I have one last story to write. It'll be my best one yet, with a jaw-dropping twist that will leave them stunned and gasping for breath.

They say that sticks and stones will break your bones, but this story? It will be the one that kills me.

Advance Praise:

"Breathtaking...the emotions are raw, real, explosive...an absolute must-read." New York Times Bestseller Kim Karr

"The best book I've read this year." New York Times Bestselling Author Tarryn Fisher

"The Ghostwriter brilliantly illustrates Alessandra Torre's talent for the mysterious and the suspenseful. I could not put this book down, even to pick up my jaw. This book is an insane roller coaster ride through one betrayal and twist after another." New York Times Bestseller CD Reiss

SANDY’S REVIEW

*5 Surprising stars*

description

My eyes are welling up, my heart feels heavy, I’m rendered speechless yet my mind can’t handle what it just read. This book was powerful, tragic and emotional beyond words. I can’t remember the last I felt so empty and at loss after finishing a book.

I’ve read most of Alessandra Torre's books, some I loved, some didn’t appeal to me but The Ghostwriter is nothing like her previous work. This book was compelling and utterly depressing. It’s a mark of sheer talent that she created such a complex and a flawed character with a commanding voice throughout the book. Helena felt real, her guilt was gut-wrenching and her words were poignant. I’m still a bundle of mess and at awe that this simple book which had less story but more character-driven, shook me to the core!

I can’t talk about the story without spoiling its essence. All you need to know is, this book is one of a kind. You need to experience it and let the suspense consume you. This might feel slow at the beginning but the journey it takes you is the one you need to devour completely.

The Ghostwriter is the best book written by AT so far, Period! Highly recommend it.
