Review: Damaged Goods by Lauren Gallagher

Title: Damaged Goods
Author: Lauren Gallagher
Series: none
Genre: contemporary romance, erotica

Jocelyn Rhodes is a single mother with a demanding career and a long-neglected libido. Frustrated with the dating scene and way overdue for some satisfying sex, she takes a friend’s advice and hires Sabian, a deliciously sexy escort. He’s well worth the money, and the sheets haven’t even cooled off before she’s ready to call him again.

The more time she spends with him, the more she realizes she and Sabian have more in common than she thought. She’s a single mom, he’s a prostitute, and when it comes to dating, they’re both damaged goods. To most potential mates, Jocelyn and Sabian are in a category akin to dented soup cans, but if the two of them can look past each other’s respective dents, they just might find something they’ve both been missing.

But even if they do find that something, how on earth can she make a relationship work with a man who sleeps with other women for a living?

SANDY’S REVIEW

Damaged Goods by Lauren Gallagher
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I have one major question for Jocelyn, Lady! Have you lost your fucking mind??? What normal functioning woman in her right sense of mind is okay with her boyfriend sleeping around with other women for money!!!!!!

I really don’t have a problem with Austin’s(Sabian) profession being a prostitute, I was happy that Jocelyn was not judgmental and saw him beyond his profession and started dating him not just for the mind blowing sex but because they had this connection. She accepted him for what he was, risked everything to be with him, can’t he just man up and give up being an escort??

I mean people end up their relationship, couple get divorced when they find out their partners are cheating on them that they seek pleasure outside their relationships, how can she digest the fact that her boyfriend FUCKS other women every night??And when she brought this up it more like “I’m sorry I doubted your sincerity” can’t you just ask him to stop WHORING! The worst part being that even after confessing their love he continued being a prostitute!

Like Hello!!! Am I the only one finding it so absurd??????? An ex-prostitute is understandable but regular prostitute.....HELL NO!!

The only thing that kept me from giving one star is the fact that bastard finally did something sensible before asking her to marry him.

Ok! Now since I have calmed down let’s see the good stuff-I liked the way our author gave a new dimension to the character of an escort like for the fact they are just like regular people with heart and soul minus selling their body for money and for showing that love have no boundary.
I liked the writing- It was smart, funny and discreet.

For now? I craved sheet-mangling, shoulder-clawing, headboard-pounding fucking.

Loved their chemistry, Erotic indeed.
“Like that?” he asked with a grin in his voice. I whimpered something close to a yes. Understatement of the decade. This angle. His cock. That rhythm. My G-spot. Oh, fuck.”
My favorite line:
“When Austin touched me, every nerve in my body may as well have been hardwired straight to my G-spot.”
